Steven Crist
has been the Publisher and a columnist for Daily Racing Form since
1998. Previously, he covered racing for The New York Times from
1981-1990; was founding editor-in-chief of The Racing Times in
1991-92; and a vice-president of the New York Racing Association from
1994-97. He is the author of several books including Betting on
Myself and Exotic Betting.
Jay Hovdey has been
Executive Columnist for Daily Racing Form since 1998.
Previously, he covered horse racing for The Blood-Horse and the
Thoroughbred Record, and his work has appeared in the New
York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and Reader's Digest.
He is the winner of four Eclipse Awards and the author of the
biographies Whittingham - A Thoroughbred Racing Legend and
Cigar - America's Horse.
Randy Moss
covers horse racing for ESPN and ABC Sports, and has a long
relationship with Daily Racing Form as an original associate of
Andrew Beyer in the making of Beyer Speed Figures and as creator of
the Moss Pace Figures. During football season, Moss also is a host and
reporter for NFL Network. Moss switched to TV
after covering the sport as a newspaper reporter, columnist and
handicapper for two decades with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram,
Dallas Morning News, Arkansas Democrat and Arkansas
Gazette. As a newspaperman, he covered 19 runnings of the Kentucky
Derby.
Dan Illman is DRF.com's Handicapping Editor. He recently released
DRF’s newest DVD Trip Handicapping, and has also authored Betting
Maidens & Two-Year-Olds. Dan is a frequent radio and TV guest, has
appeared on ESPN, TVG, and HRTV, and is also the host of the DRF
Newsdesk. He also is the co-host of the Out of the Gate
program for the New York City Off-Track Betting Network. He has worked
for Daily Racing Form since 1998, and was a handicapper in the
daily paper from 2000-2005.
